Virgil Abloh Finds A Royal Muse For 2018 Off-White Collection

To mark the 20th Anniversary since Princess Diana’s passing, Virgil Abloh and Off-White will pay homage with Spring 2018 collection. The Chi-town creative director and good friend of Kanye is once again breaking boundaries and exceeding expectations.

Virgil uploaded his Lady Di mood-board to Instagram with the caption: “one woman, 40 @off_white looks in the works come September”. Look closely and you’ll see the versatility of her style: ski-resort wear, risqué swimwear and Ray Bans in Monaco, bomber jackets in the countryside, and all-black Versace eveningwear.

Diana was without a doubt “The People’s Princess” in all senses, fashion included. From casualwear to luxury, over time she became a royal figurehead for fashion & culture. Michael Jackson honoured her with song. Designers from Valentino, Karl Lagerfeld were endeared by her unconventional approach to royalty. Each designer not only saw her as a client, but as an inspiration. Off-White takes the reins from the best by following suit.

Don’t doubt Virgil’s vision. Expect a new level of streetwear luxury from this collection. A celebration of one woman: muse, feminist, versatile, stylish, admirable. Princess Diana.
