Heading into their ninth year stronger than ever after last year’s sell-out, Outlook Festival have now revealed the first names joining the lineup in 2016, with Damian Marley, Kano, Hiatus Kaiote, Goldie MBE, Section Boyz, Noisia, Channel One, Little Simz and many more headed to the Adriatic coast this summer.
Between the 31st Aug and 4th Sept, Outlook Festival is set to unite a monumental bill of talent in their beachside fortress home, with DJs, producers, crews, labels and MCs that span ages, styles and decades. A combo of dub, reggae, grime, drum & bass, hip-hop and more, Outlook Festival joins the dots between iconic genres, all heard on the worlds best soundsystems.
Damian ‘JR. GONG’ Marley will headline the opening concert in Pula’s historical amphitheatre along with very special guests TBA, and through the week Andy C, Stormzy and Joey Bada$$ are just some of the next-level artists involved. Slum Village, David Rodigan, and Channel One meet fresh talent like Henry Wu, LEVELZ, Iglooghost and A-F-R-O, on a grimey / bass tip, new school names AJ Tracey, Hi5 Ghost & Boofy, Madam X, and Lady Leshurr join pioneers Elijah & Skilliam, Riko Dan, Kano, DJ Q, and Flowdan for all the action you can handle.
In other territories, the biggest names in the rap game are part of the madness, with Lex Luger, Mick Jenkins, Tropkillaz, Joey Bada$$ and more all stepping up to show why hip-hop has taken over again this year. More hip-hop and grime heads take centre stage with, Cas is Dead, Rejjie Snow and Section Boyz .
With it’s foundations firmly set in soundsystem culture, Outlook Festival will supply an array of reggae, dub and live acts to shake the speakers, with Jah Shaka, Channel One, Mungos Hi Fi, Mad Professor, Prince Fatty and Dub Smugglers performing. Outlook Festival will pay homage to the artists that are part of soundsystem history with the highest spec systems in the world. Singers, bands and experimental electronic names are on board too, with Henry Wu, Hot 8 Brass Band Angel Haze, Harleighblu and Swindle taking part in the Outlook proceedings.
At the 160–180 BPM mark, expect a golden selection of live, DJs and MCs from jungle and DnB circles. Over 20 of the finest from Metalheadz, Shogun and Hospitality play, including Goldie, Alix Perez, Hazard, Ivy Lab, Andy C, Lenzman, Commix and Congo Natty ft Iron Dread & Congo Dubz. As if that wasn’t enough, Ant TC1, Calibre, DLR, Doc Scott, Dom & JKenzo, LSB, Marcus Intalex, MC DRS, Med School, Onemind, Mako and Skeptical are part of the first wave on board. Straight up dubstep is in the hands of Commodo, Goth-Trad, Jack Sparrow, Kahn & Neek, Noisia, Gantz and the almighty king Mala. Garage, house, bass, r&b and everything in-between comes from MJ Cole, Josey Rebelle, DJ Betty, Artful Dodger and more. And there are hundred’s of crews, DJs and artists still to come, making this year’s outing undoubtedly the strongest to date.
Set in an abandoned fortress on the blissful Adriatic coast, Outlook Festival finds it’s home in one of the most stunning settings in Croatia. Between stages, campsites and boat parties, visitors will find a trip balanced between an all-out rave and holiday, a mix of chilling on the beach all day long and dancing all night deep. No where else will visitors be able to experience high quality sound like Outlook Festival, an event that prides itself on its deeply rooted appreciation of sound quality and design.
