Massive Attack Bring Kate Moss To The ‘Ritual Spirit’

Massive Attack go into the heart of darkness in their new video for ‘Ritual Spirit’ featuring Kate Moss in the sultry shot visual which features the pitch perfect lead vocal from Azekel.

Revealing the video for the title track to their ‘Ritual Spirit’ EP, Massive Attack continue the visual assault of famous femmes, following up from their Rosamund Pike featured ‘Voodoo In My Blood‘. The latest Kate Moss featured video for ‘Ritual Spirit’, was a natural collaboration between friends as 3D and Moss go back.

Produced by 3D and co-written with Euan Dickinson, 3D explained how the video came about – “Me and Kate have been friends for years, but had never collaborated, so last year we booked a studio with Medium and set up a shoot. During the session Kate was dancing in the dark, lighting herself with a naked bulb. She perfectly captured the essence of this track… intimate and ritualistic. We edited it back in Bristol to keep it raw with no re-touching, I didn’t want to lose the spirit of that moment.”

Featured vocalist Azekel, already caught the attention of Prince, and while also citing influences from Radiohead to D’Angelo, the London based, Nigerian born singer, has put in the perfect collaboration with Massive Attack on this EP, since putting his own ‘Raw. Vol 1‘ EP out last year.

Massive Attack’s ‘Ritual Spirit’ EP, also features the return of Tricky on the first Hiro Murai directed video ‘Take It There’, with the aforementioned ‘Voodoo In My Blood’ featuring Young Fathers and another collaboration with Roots Manuva on ‘Dead Editors’.

Download / Stream the ‘Ritual Spirit’ EP which is out now and Massive Attack will also be headlining British Summer Time Hyde Park on Friday 1st July.
