Louis Mattrs recently passed through London bringing some of the Brighton surf with him for his first live party of the year at Birthdays in Dalston on Thursday night and we got a few shots in.
Releasing a free download of his new track ‘Surf Party’ ahead of his debut headline show, Louis pulls in a sample of ‘Get Down Saturday Night,’ turning Oliver Cheatham and Jocelyn Brown’s original disco number into a smooth and slow R&B wave.
Producing, writing and performing his music, Louis Mattrs gathered features from Chicago rapper Lucki Eck$, and singer/songwriter LK Faith on the Slow Waves EP, as well getting Cadenza to produce the cut ‘White Girl Wasted‘. The new track ‘Surf Party’ comes quickly off the back of the 2015 EP release, adding to his guest feature on SG Lewis’ own single ‘No Less’. This is just a taster of what’s yet to come, as Louis prepares to release his debut single officially later this year.
