Thundercat just released the first track from his forthcoming album ‘Drunk’, and we’re hyped. Having gained acclaim for 2013’s ‘Apocalypse ‘and further momentum for 2015’s ‘The Beyond / Where The Giants Roam’, Thundercat continues to reinvent his sound with each drop. 2017 promises an album release alongside festival appearances and the new single ‘Show You The Way’ is available for streaming now.
‘Drunk’ is heading our way in full on Feb 24th but for now we have a new track that is exactly what we’ve come to expect from a Brainfeeder release. Forward thinking future music, with a strong ear for heritage, Thundercat brings on board Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald to feature on vocals. Delivering their best homage to Motown harmonies reimagined for the modern age, ‘Show You The Way’ is a kaleidoscope of Motown, Funk and Electro synths and a sumptuous teaser that will have fans eager for the album.
Album Features include Kendrick Lamar, Brainfeeder boss Flying Lotus, Kamasi Washington Pharrell and Wiz Khalifa. Naturally, a vinyl edition will swiftly follow the digital release for those fans who still get a thrill from the physical copy, the album also boasts artwork by Zack Fox with Eddie Alcazar on photography
“Drunk” is released on 24th February on CD / Digital formats via Brainfeeder, with the vinyl format – comprising four red 10”s housed in a lift-off box featuring photography by Eddie Alcazar and artwork by Zack Fox – following on 10th March 2017.
