Is Sean Leon Taking Toronto To A New Nirvana

Checking out new music from Toronto these days sometimes feel’s like a journey down a rabbithole never knowing how deep or how wild it can go. The fact remains, today no music genre is the realm of one nation – it’s the realm of the connected generation.

That new generation is kicking in a ‘New Toronto’ era and a whirlwind of new artists and producers are coming through and they’re all about grinding – all the time. One rising talent who’s been grinding hard over the last two years is Sean Leon and he’s been solidly working, having released two projects on SoundCloud with another one on its way.

Leon’s put in the time, pulled together a dedicated following and garnered critical acclaim with his previous projects ‘Ninelevenne, the Tragedy’ and ‘Narcissus, the Drowning of Ego’ and now the buildup has begun for his third project which is due to drop soon – ‘Black Sheep Nirvana’.

Two tracks previewed over the last few months have found a new force building even further beyond Sean’s diehard fans. Contributions to the new project have come through from some of Toronto’s finest – ‘This Ain’t 2012’ features production from Wondagurl and vocals from River Tiber – and rising producer Eestbound has brought his production to the latest track ’81’.

If this new stable has one thing going for it – it’s their relentless drive to make sure we stand up and take notice. Canada’s not slowing down – Drake and The Weeknd have already claimed the crown for 2015 but it looks like there’s a new generation of Toronto talent with their eyes on that throne.  In the meantime, Sean Leon is primed to take us into a journey through new soundscapes.
