Hudson East Debuts The ‘Eastway’ EP

Little is known about London based singer-songwriter Hudson East, but that’s not for want of trying, he likes to let his music do all the talking. So we quit asking ‘who the fuck is this guy’ and have been getting hooked to the way of the East, while keeping a close watch on this one.

Hinting that a project was in the works since last year, and after teasing snippets from the ‘Eastway’ EP, Hudson East has gone with what already feels like a peak start to music in 2016 and taken his moment as now. Describing ‘Eastway’ he calls it “A non-conceptual project reflecting on the thoughts and feelings of a young man dealing with the many encounters you would expect in love and life. Sonically there are slightly dark overtones in the EP’s production, represented with some heavy bass-lines, meshed together with some authentic elements of R&B.”

With production credits from a sturdy camp including RASCAL (Little Simz, ELHAE, Jay Prince), OZ (Travis $cott, Lil Durk, Little Simz) and FrancisGotHeat (Roy Wood$), Hudson East started off by building his transnational sound through linking with other ‘ones to watch’. After a guest feature on LA rapper Tre Capital’s EESTBOUND produced banger ‘Bear The Burden‘ (from ‘Gundam Part 2‘), he followed up with little to no hype, with the release of his first solo track ‘M.I.T.M.’ (prod. Hudson East & RASCAL). That got us curious, and things only gathered more pace with “Change” (prod. OZ & Syk Sense), leading to a premiere of “Dark Knight” on London’s Radar Radio.

It’s only been less than six months having Hudson East on our ‘one to watch’ radar, but that’s long enough because its finally time to have this ‘one to listen’ on rotation;
