After the recent story in Vanity Fair about ”Tinder and the dawn of the dating apocalypse”, do you really need another reason to worry about the dangers of dating in the modern age?
From the writer of Menace II Society, Tyger Williams now brings us The Perfect Guy – a story about finding the perfect guy and discovering he may not be as perfect as he seems. The forthcoming thriller stars Michael Ealy as the picture perfect guy who wins over the affections of Sanaa Lathan, a woman recently separated from her commitment phobic partner, played by Morris Chestnut. The relationship soon turns into a sinister obsession reminiscent of the flick ‘Fatal Attraction’, as Lathan’s character soon finds out, that Ealy’s “perfect guy” is not quite as perfect.
It’s a new thriller that takes the dangers of modern dating to a whole new level. While Tinder is grabbing headlines as a notorious way to get quick hookups, the challenges of dating today and finding the right partner are as tough as ever. The disturbing increase in abuse, with 35% of women worldwide experiencing either intimate partner violence or non-partner sexual violence in their lifetime according to the W.H.O, makes for a much more sobering reality of dating.
So if you needed a reason to be that little bit more careful about who you’re hooking up with and don’t mind watching a nail biting thriller to boot – then check out the trailer everyone is talking about below.
The Perfect Guy will open in U.S cinemas on September 11, a U.K release date is yet to be confirmed.
