Last month, 40 students took part in courses at the Floor Sixx Music Academy down at Red Bull Studios, Vevo and Livity HQ. The project, set up by DJ Sian Anderson and J2K was set up to offer students industry standard experience with professional tutors and industry figures.
As accreditation for their course, the students have put together an event at Roundhouse, Camden. On Friday 20th October, the project and plan will come together with the Floor Sixx All Dayer. There are a tonne of exciting events planned for the day including;
An exhibition featuring the photographers “shoot the shooter” piece, showcasing what happened when they went behind the scenes at shoots with Vicky Grout, Ashley Verse and Courtney F Photo across the ten week course.
The videographers will be screening their documentaries before having public a Q&A with Jamal Edwards (SB.TV) and Rashid Kasirye (Link Up TV).
Journalists will exhibit their very own ZINE, exploring what it means to grow up in Britain this 2017, with features on British music, fashion and lifestyle.
There will also be a concert which will see guest performers Chip, Kojo Funds, Sir Spyro & Friends, SNE and Afro B take to the Roundhouse centre stage alongside the Floor Sixx artists and their mentors, hosted by Remel London. After the day’s activities Kenny Allstar, Jeremiah Asiamah, Ralph Hardy, Selecta Suave and Last Night In Paris will take over Lock 17 for the after party, celebrating the end of the FLOOR SIXX Music Academy 2017.
“It’s a 3000 person capacity venue so a big task, but between the events & PR team, project management team and journalists, they will pull it off! Expect to see some amazing photography and videography from the students on the day too, some super exciting stuff!” – Sian Anderson
