Fabian Secon teams up with producer 5ive Beats on new release ‘Wilderness’.
South London’s Fabian Secon is a musician that’s used to turning turning heads, a third generation musician, it seems Fabian has always had one eye on greatness. Both his grandfather (Paul Secon) and his Grammy nominated, multi-platinum selling songwriter father (Lucas Secon) have a musical history that includes writing and production for some of the best known names in the industry; from Nat King Cole, to Toni Braxton and Christina Aguilera.
Now, Fabian returns to the spotlight following last year’s “Do No Disturb” EP debut, with a shimmering alt R’n’B track ‘Wilderness’ directed by J-Mornix. Taken from Fabian Secon and 5ive Beatz collaborative, and independently released EP “Until We Meet Again” – a four track EP that dissects the breakdown of a troubled and turbulent relationship.
“‘Wilderness’ is a dark alternative R&B track that describes the banished love lost between the couple. It paints the picture of destruction that has been created and emphasises the fact that there is no going back.” Fabian says of the EP. “Until We Meet Again” has been produced entirely by 5ive Beats, a creative whose own musical history includes multiple production credits on Nines’ “One Foot Out” album alongside production credits for artists including Ray BLK, Krept & Konan, Stormzy, P Money, 67, Abra Cadabra.
“5ive and I met online around January 2016”, Fabian explains. “Having a mutual appreciation for each other’s talent, we started working instantly. The vibe was very natural, and we spent a few months experimenting. Our aim for Until We Meet Again was to fuse alternative R&B, pop rock and trap elements to create a fresh, progressive body of work. The EP tells the story of a turbulent and troubled relationship, so there are dark emotions that run throughout.”
