Cassius Come Back To ‘Go Up’ With Pharrell & Cat Power

Cassius have officially announced their first album in 10 years with the forthcoming release of ‘Ibifornia’, the soundtrack for an imaginary utopia “inside every one of us” according to Zdar and Boombass.

‘Ibifornia’ is a project that promises a Cassius ‘extravaganza’ of disco, funk, house, soul, afrobeat, synth-pop, psychedelia, hip hop and gospel fusion and if you know Cassius you know that’s not imaginary. Kicking off with a recharge, Pharell returns back to the fold with Cassius since working with them on the 2006 track ‘Eye Water’, joining Cat Power on the new single ‘Go Up’ (listen above).

After you ascend and ‘Go Up’, get into  ‘The Missing’ the 2nd track featuring Ryan Tedder & Jaw below – both tracks are immediately available to download when you pre-order the album.

Emerging out of the first wave of the French Touch sound of electronic music, admidst Daft Punk, Air, St Germain –  Cassius closed off the 90’s with their first hit ‘Cassius 1999′, following with a stream of collaborations with soul and hip hop icons from Jocelyn Brown, Ghostface Killah, Leroy Burgess and Pharrell amongst others. Cassius’ influence and Zdar’s award winning production credits have kept their sound woven through all future sounds including a featured sample on Kanye and Jay’s ‘Watch The Throne’ on ‘Why I love You’ which featured Mr Hudson.

Now they’re back, it’s time to hit the floor, ascend and ‘Go Up’ – let yourself go, it’s inside every one of us!
