Be ready for a case of whiplash, Anderson .Paak ain’t playin’ – come to think of it – he’s all about playin’ wit u in his new visual. Dropping his first new single ‘Bubbin’, since his breakout success two years ago, .Paak is back!
The hugely rated singer, rapper, drummer and producer now signed to Dr Dre’s label Aftermath, has certified his position as a global star (a near-constant touring scheduled guaranteed that) and released over 100 songs to date. That’s nothing apparently compared to the 65,000 songs he claimed to have stashed in his vault, when he spoke to Zane Lowe yesterday to premiere the new record.
With multiple features on Dr Dre’s ‘Compton’ album and his sophomore project, 2016’s ‘Malibu’, Anderson. Paak made huge waves collaborating with ScHoolboy Q, The Game, Talib Kweli, BJ The Chicago Kid, Rapsody, and producers 9th Wonder, Dem Jointz, Robert Glasper, Kaytranada, Madlib and Hi-Tek. But that wasn’t it, as part of the duo, NxWorries with Knxwledge, .Paak also released the album ‘Yes Lawd!’, and guest featured on multiple singles with other artists.
This isn’t a warm up, it’s a heatwave and .Paak is seriously ‘Bubblin’ ahead of the release of his highly-anticipated first album for Aftermath. Dragging around an ATM machine, spewing out cash and being all types of careless with his money, watch the Calmatic directed video below and tell me you’re not entertained!
