Action Bronson Takes It Back To His Roots On ‘Durag vs Headband’

Bronsoliño is back with a serious banger in his latest release ‘Du-Rag vs. Headband’.

After taking over our screens with his ‘F*ck That’s Delicious’ series over the past few years, it’s great to see him getting back to what he does best. For all the theatrics and bravado that comes from such an over the top personality, it’s easy to forget just how much we need his sound in the culture today.

Since his early mixtapes, Bronson has never been one to choose a complex sound, there may be a small sample here and there but where he comes to life is when he sticks to his native Queens roots, unloading his eccentric word play over a simple drum beat.

‘Du-Rag vs. Headband’ is no exception, as he employs in demand producer Knxwledge to give him a 90’s New York beat that he can twist to sound signature Bronson. It’s a vibe that works so well as he combines references to pop culture of the time from 850 BM’s and the white guitar from ‘Wayne’s World’, with his well-known love for weed and food.

Bronson further embraces this theme with a hilariously over the top visual that has everything from classic polo looks and an ice cream van to his sidekick Big Body Bes riding a horse with an Albania flag.

It’s clear Bronson wanted to take his latest release back to his roots and as someone who has carved his own lane into the genre, it’s good to hear him embracing the sounds he grew up with whilst making it fit for the culture today.
